Serve as a weekly volunteer

Our caring volunteers help support our mission by donating their time in ways that make a positive impact in the lives of our clients.

We welcome volunteers who are at least 18 years old for weekly volunteering.  Weekly volunteers commit to at least one day per week for at least 2 hours between 8am and 4pm.  Shifts for weekly volunteering include serving meals, assisting in our clothing room, helping in our food pantry, and sorting/organizing items in our donation room.

Volunteer with your church or community group

The more, the merrier.  Groups from businesses, churches and clubs around NWA have helped out in many ways over the years.

We schedule volunteer projects for community groups during regular hours and some weekends, depending on need and staff scheduling.

Projects range from adopting a dorm room at our Walker Community, to painting fences, to packing hygiene kits, to serving after hours meals.  Each project is based on what our current needs are and the size and interests of the community group involved.

Host an event

A great way to support our mission and programs is to host a special event or fundraiser benefitting 7hills.

Many individuals, small groups, businesses, and restaurants have organized small events to support 7hills. We are always grateful to our volunteers for raising awareness of our mission in the community and raising funds to support our programs.

Organize a donation drive

Area businesses, corporations, and college groups help coordinate donation drives on behalf of 7hills.

In a few easy steps, you can organize a successful drive for needed items across our three programs. Our Day Center relies on donations from the community to feed, clothe, nourish, and support homeless and near-homeless people in our community.  We have a user-friendly Donation Drive Planning Kit to help get you started.

Adopt a dorm

This is the perfect volunteer project for church groups and community organizations that transforms a dorm into a home.

By adopting a dorm or unit at our Walker Community, you are helping to make a house a home during an individual or family’s stay in our program. Volunteers decorate the space and fill it with home essentials. The unit feels warm and welcoming from the first moment a resident enters their new home. We have an Adopt-a-Dorm Information Sheet with more information.
