Volunteers like you make a difference. Individuals, companies, small businesses, and community groups can get involved with us in a variety of ways.
Weekly volunteers commit to at least one day per week for at least 2 hours between 8am and 4pm. Shifts for weekly volunteering include serving meals, assisting in our clothing room, helping in our food pantry, and sorting/organizing items in our donation room. Please fill out our Volunteer Application if you are interested in becoming a weekly volunteer.
Group volunteer opportunities can be during regular hours and some weekends, depending on need and staff scheduling. Projects range from painting fences, to packing hygiene kits, to serving after hours meals, to adopting a dorm (see below). Each project is based on what our current needs are and the size and interests of the community group involved. Please fill out our Group Volunteer Application if you are interested in volunteering as a group.
Groups can also Adopt-a-Dorm or unit at our Walker Community, you are helping to make a house a home during an individual or family’s stay in our program. Volunteers decorate the space and fill it with home essentials. The unit feels warm and welcoming from the first moment a resident enters their new home. We have an Adopt-a-Dorm Information Sheet with more information. Please fill out our Group Volunteer Application if you are interested in adopting a dorm.
Hosting a special event is yet another great way to support our mission and programs. Let us know if you want to coordinate a third party event or fundraiser supporting 7hills by filling out our contact form and indicating you are interested in hosting an event.
Or, organize a donation drive for needed items across our three programs. Our Day Center relies on donations from the community to feed, clothe, nourish, and support homeless and near-homeless people in our community. We have a user-friendly Donation Drive Planning Kit to help get you started. Please fill out our contact form and indicate that you are interested in organizing a donation drive.
