7hills Homeless Center
“Serving those who many turn away from and challenging people to address the growing issue of homelessness has become my deep passion.” ~Billy
Billy accepted the CEO position with 7hills in May 2015. He leads the entire organization that serves over 2,100 homeless individuals and families from across the Northwest Arkansas region. Even though the 7hills facilities –Day Center, Veterans Services, Supportive Housing -are located in South Fayetteville, we continue to play a critical role in the Northwest Arkansas community at large as one of the largest providers in the area.
Background: In 2002, after almost 10 years working with a WorldCom company in his hometown of San Diego, CA, Billy struggled with a passion gap. He experienced great personal success in his job, yet he felt a nagging in his heart that his work had little purpose. After a series of disastrous tragedies – the collapse of WorldCom followed by losing their family home and all belongings in the 2003 Cedar Wildfire – Billy and his family relocated to Branson, MO, in 2005, accepting a position with a youth development organization. Soon, he was leading the organization as the CEO and was proud to serve the company for a decade. After having success turning the youth development organization into a high functioning program, it was his goal to take the same approach to the complex challenge of serving those experiencing homelessness.
Billy has been happily married to Angie Rader for 21 years and has two wonderful daughters, Tegan and Phoebe.
”I know without a doubt that what we do matters and that we have the power to change our community.” ~Charity
Charity made the career leap to 7hills in May of 2015. Her long time mentor and supervisor, Billy Rader, had taken a position with 7hills and quickly realized it needed an overhaul to survive—and survive it must to provide critical support to so many people without other community supports. Knowing she had a broad skill set (important for an organization that would need to operate with very few administrative staff) and a proven ability to lead in high-pressure, low-resource situations, Billy asked Charity to join the 7hills team.
At 7hills, Charity is responsible for the overall operations of all three of our programs: Day Center, Supportive Services for Veteran Families and the Walker Family Residential Community. She also oversees the financial, human resources, resource development aspects of the agency.
Background: Before Charity came to 7hills, she spent a decade working in various capacities within a youth development organization that serves primarily underprivileged kids in Branson, MO. She was highly regarded across the community and the state of Missouri for her achievements in program development and systems building.
Charity has been married to her high school sweetheart for 13 years and they have two awesome kids, LiliAnn and Dawson.
