Our History
7hills has a robust history in the Northwest Arkansas area. Though our programs and team have changed over the years, our commitment to our community and to our clients has always remained at the center of all we do.
Founded in 2001, 7hills began as a day center, providing meals, clothing, food, hygiene items, and other basic needs resources to people experiencing homelessness. Over the years, we expanded to provide more services at our Day Center, in addition to adding a wide variety of re-housing programs in an effort to be a part of a sustainable solution to end homelessness. In 2007, we built the Walker Family Residential Community to expand affordable housing options for our clients. Today, this community continues to provide transitional housing and permanent supportive housing to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. It is no longer a stand-alone program, but falls under our HOPE program, which provides three different types of re-housing services, including the two offered at our Walker Community, and a scattered-site rapid re-housing option. This enables us to serve a wide range of individuals with varying levels of assistance. We continue to remain true to our roots and are still one of the only nonprofits in the region that provides low-barrier basic needs resources, re-housing, and support services to those in need. We believe that everyone deserves a place to call home, and we strive every day to support people on their paths toward stability, wherever they are in their lives.
Our Team
Our team is passionate, hardworking, and committed to our mission. We believe that we can create a sustainable system to support people in exiting homelessness quickly and efficiently, even when at times that task feels daunting. We treat the individuals who walk through our doors with dignity, recognizing that they are more than their circumstances – they are people, they are our neighbors, they are an integral part of our community. We love what we do. We approach everything with an innovative and collaborative mindset, and strive to continuously adapt and change our programs and services as needed and as we can to continue to provide the best support possible to individuals in need. Together, our team and our board work to ensure our organization continues to make a positive impact on our community.
